Tibetan medicine embraces the key Buddhist principles of altruism, karma & ethics and takes a completely different approach to diagnosis and cure to Western medicine. The Tibetan physician looks upon the human organism as one unit and uses his healing to re-establish balance throughout the whole organism. For this reason there are generally no side effects.

Tibetan medicine is one of the five major sciences, and is called gSoba Rigpa, the science of healing. Tibetan medicine has everything present in Ayurveda and many things that are not.  It is much more than herbalism — although it uses various herbs, trees, rocks, resins, soils, saps and precious metals. (There are more than 1,000 medicinal herbs and 144 minerals in the normal Tibetan medicine cabinet) These are also used to make seven kinds of “precious pill” known as Rinchen rilpo which is generally included in the treatment of hepatitis. Each pill can have fifty or more ingredients mixed together.

HEPATITIS A

Formerly called “Infectious Hepatitis” and Jaundice. The administration of immune globulins (IG) may help if given within 2 weeks of infection, but it is of no help in the acute phase of Hepatitis A.

HEPATITIS C

The greatest threat. There is no vaccine against Hepatitis C. More than 80% of those who get Hepatitis C will have the infection for life if it is not treated.
